Specifications
Scorpius was built in 1966 as a family yacht. In 1977-78 her superstructure and interior were removed and she was reconstructed to 86 ft. from the inside out as an expedition vessel to U.S. Coast Guard requirements.
She was certified in 1978 through 1994 as a small passenger vessel for international voyages with 12 passengers plus crew.
All machinery and systems have been rebuilt or replaced by current owner and are in excellent condition.
The interior is of traditional yacht quality and is in very good condition. All seating in salon, galley, and pilothouse are done in fine leather. Staterooms are finished with the best of fabrics and wall coverings.
The owner has continually upgraded this little ship over the last 10 years. Scorpius, with her steel hull and low center of gravity, is one the safest and most stable yachts of her size. She is designed for a minimum crew and can be operated comfortably by a husband and wife team. Even when docking, it only takes two persons to safely secure Scorpius.
She comes to the new owner with a very extensive spare parts and tool inventory which includes: six boxes of hand and power tools, galley utensils, china, crystal, and bed and bath linens.
This robust ship is fully equipped and ready to travel to any port in the world!
