Well it all broke lose this week????

The heat wave we had warmed the water enough to start the bite with a bang.

Funny how it starts up and down the coast at the same time.

Inshore Pt Loma & La Jolla Kelp beds

Barracuda and Bonita are the top catches. Calico bass fishing is in full swing with many 3 to 5 lb fish being taken. Sardines and swimbaits still the best baits.

The Bonita are big up to 12 lbs with many Guys and Gals fishing light for line World Records

Look for the Yellowtail to move inshore along kelp beds in the next week or two

Coronado Islands

Yellow tail are the story this week. Nice grade of fish up to 28 lbs

Best Areas South Kelp Ridge, Middle Grounds and Rockpile

Slow trolling sardines and small green mackerel are working

San Clemente Island

Some White sea bass but slow overall with some big fish still being caught.

The big news is also the Yellowtail have moved in to the frontside of the island.

Squid is the best bait thus far. The fish have not settled down and are still spooky.

Throwing Surface iron at them only spooks them, so shutting down and drifting is the best right now. Give them a week or so and they should start to chew the iron.

Just a things heat up the weather is turning
