It was a short 4th of July celebration the other day as on the morning of the 5th The Crow's Nest was host to KUSI TV weatherman Dave Scott and the NMMA Discover Boating tour.  The San Diego office was the location for all the morning news weather spots starting at 7am and going live at times till 10am.  Working with Dave was fun but he did not like to do any 'scripting' favoring to 'wing it' instead.

One of our seller's Barry from the LEGEND and his faithful companion Hula made it on TV telling why they love the boating lifestyle and inviting Dave aboard to discuss boating safety.

Once Dave got on the safe boating kick he grabbed NMMA spokesman Jim Behun and a PFD (Personal Flotation Device) and informed everyone on the importance of not only having a PFD, but knowing where it is located and how to use it !  Good lessons for all of us.

After the next break, Dave informed everyone that we would go on a 3.5 million dollar boat and get a tour.  He grabbed me and off we went on the Viking 60' Bad Company Edition.  Dave has done some boating but I think the price impressed him and the anchorpeople the most.  KUSI did a great job promoting boating and the Crow's Nest.  Several people called or came by because they had their morning coffee watching the news and the boats caught their eye.  All in all it was a fun morning, very informative and a great way to keep the holiday weekend going with a boating theme.  I had fun using 2 of my 15 minutes of fame on the local news and couldn't wait to get home and watch it on the DVR!   Not nearly as fun to watch as it was to be a part of during the morning but it was interesting to see everything that went on just to bring all of us the weather on TV!  Hope your holiday was fun as well...see you on the water boating and don't forget your PFD's.
