When a new big Viking SF shows up in Southern California I usually get a couple of calls asking 'do I know anything about this boat' from clients and some of our brokers. Well this time I will beat everyone to the call by welcoming DOGPATCH, a 2001 65' Viking Enclosed Bridge SF to her new home in San Diego. This is a boat sold almost 11 months ago and her owner has been busy putting his custom touches together. She sports a new PBT tower, an updated AME electronics package, west coast rails, bait tanks and more. After a quick Yachtpath trip from Florida to Ensenada, DOGPATCH finally came home today.
DOGPATCH enters Shelter Island
DOGPATCH and her owners are looking forward to fishing and entertaining family and friends locally this summer and heading off to Mexico in the fall. Her name is a combination of her owner's fondness of Lil' Abner and a play on the word dog, which in fishing circles, is slang for a BIG marlin. We all hope she lives up to her name and becomes a sort of hangout for big fish!
The owner and Captain reported that customs was "professional, organized and quick to process them in to the country", The agents were pleasent and had a good sense of humor so that they were on thier way to thier slip in 30 minutes. It's nice to see this branch of our government get such high praise and be efficient .... kudos to the SD Immigration and Customs service!

Welcome home DOGPATCH, we look forward to seeing you out on the waters, fishing and having fun!
